THE METROBILLY G&T

It’s hot out there - so why not cool out and off with my dressed up METROBILLY GIN AND TONIC? It takes a few extra minutes to steep the fresh rosemary growing in your backyard to make a simple syrup….but well worth the little effort and time required. We’re using Calamity Gin from Texas, a clean botanical SPIRIT perfect with fresh lemon and woody herbs like rosemary and thyme. Sip Sip…thump thump!

SERVES :1 | COOK, PREP TIME: 30 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS

2 ounces CALAMITY gin

1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice

1/2 ounce rosemary simple syrup (recipe below)

2 ounces tonic

2 lemon slice, for glass

1 rosemary sprig, for glass

ROSEMARY SIMPLE SYRUP

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

1 rosemary sprig

TECHNIQUE

Shake gin, lemon juice and rosemary simple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Add tonic then with lemon slices and rosemary sprig.

ROSEMARY SIMPLE SYRUP

Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan then bring to a boil. Cook, while stirring, until the sugar dissolves; then remove from the heat, add rosemary, and allow to steep for 25 minutes.
